                                 (HISTORY)

Bill Anderson is a CMA Hall of Fame Artist as well as one of my fellow Hall of Fame songwriters.
Bill is known among his peers as the man with the golden pen, so to say the least, I was somewhat surprised when he came to my office in search of a song.
I jokingly asked him what happened to his golden pen. He told me he'd been busy on the road performing and that he hadn't had time to do much writing.
I played him this song and he liked it, and recorded it. He later brought a copy of his recording by my office and asked me to listen to it and tell him if it needed anything.
After listening I told him all it needed was to be released. He released it and 12 weeks later it was the Number One song in the Nation........

~ DON'T SHE LOOK GOOD ~
DON'T SHE LOOK GOOD

She was on her way out of your life when I found her
Not knowing which way to turn
She'd forgotten the feeling of two arms around her
But it didn't take her long to learn
You had new worlds to conquer, so you didn't want her
Or anything cramping your style
But don't she look great in the new dress I bought her
And don't she look good when she smiles

Did you really think you were so all important
She couldn't get by on her own
Did you really think loosing you would destroy her
And that's why she kept hanging on
She stuck to her pomise, and talked to her conscience
And did all she could for a while
Then she picked up the pieces and she's started livin'
Now don't she look good when she smiles

Chorus:

Don't she look good in the new dress I bought her
And the new way that she wears her hair
She's in a new world and she's not the same girl
She knows now that somebody cares
You can't believe that the same girl you let go
Could change so in this little while
But don't she look great in the new dress I bought her
And don't she look good when she smiles
